The Opportunity:

As a Reception Manager, you will lead the reception function and serve as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors. This role requires a highly professional, friendly, and adaptable individual who can manage a team while delivering outstanding customer service and supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the reception team, ensuring a high standard of service and a welcoming environment for all visitors.
  • Coordinate and oversee the smooth running of the front of house operations, including visitor management, phone calls, and correspondence.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, parents, staff, and visitors, maintaining a professional and approachable attitude.
  • Support the school’s operations team in delivering a seamless experience across all aspects of the school community.
  • Ensure all administrative tasks are completed efficiently, including record-keeping, scheduling, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Act as a key liaison between the school and external parties, representing the school with professionalism and care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that support the school’s ethos and values.
  • Monitor and maintain the appearance and functionality of the reception area to reflect the school’s standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a similar role, such as front of house or concierge, with strong customer service and leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with all members of the school community.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting is highly desirable.
  • A confident, proactive, and positive attitude with the ability to make independent decisions.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or line management role within a school or similar organisation.
  • Familiarity with school operations and an understanding of the importance of safeguarding and welfare in educational settings.
  • Experience with using administrative software and systems to manage day-to-day operations.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of service and presentation.
