The Opportunity:
A Reception Teaching Assistant is needed to support the delivery of engaging, developmentally appropriate activities across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This role is central to shaping pupils’ first experiences of school and requires a strong understanding of EYFS and Key Stage 1.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
- Assist with the planning, preparation, and delivery of activities aligned with EYFS and Key Stage 1.
- Promote the development of children’s social, emotional, and cognitive skills.
- Support the pastoral care and wellbeing of pupils in the Early Years.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure a consistent and nurturing approach to learning.
- Monitor and record children’s progress and development regularly.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all pupils.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare (or equivalent).
- Previous experience of working with children in an Early Years setting.
- Experience of supporting pastoral care and pupil wellbeing.
- Strong understanding of EYFS and Key Stage 1 curricula.
Preferred
- Experience of working in a school or educational setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and independently as part of a team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
