Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality Religious Studies lessons aligned with curriculum guidelines.
  • Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment that supports student achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance pedagogy and curriculum design.
  • Participate in the school’s vertical tutoring system and coaching circles to build positive relationships with students.
  • Support students through a trauma-informed and compassionate approach to behavior and learning.
  • Contribute to the development of extra-curricular activities and pastoral care initiatives.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and share best practices with departmental colleagues.
  • Monitor and assess student progress using both qualitative and quantitative data.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Religious Studies.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching the subject.
  • Experience in delivering inclusive and pupil-centered education.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and collaborative working.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and support a school-wide community ethos.

Preferred

  • Experience with KS4 curriculum development and examination courses.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and inclusive pedagogy.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to extra-curricular activities.
  • Background in trauma-informed practices and student well-being support.
  • Experience with vertical tutoring systems or similar relational structures.
