The Opportunity:

As a SEND Tutor, you will provide personalized academic and emotional support to students with complex needs. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact through flexible, trauma-informed teaching and mentoring. It is ideal for passionate educators looking to work in a purpose-driven setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1-1 tuition in Maths, English, or Science to students with SEND and SEMH needs
  • Support learners from KS1 to KS5 through trauma-informed and flexible teaching approaches
  • Plan and deliver structured lessons with regular progress reports and feedback
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary support team to ensure holistic student development
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and safeguarding-compliant learning environment
  • Engage in continuous professional development and mentorship opportunities
  • Contribute to the school's mission of improving educational outcomes for vulnerable young people
  • Work flexibly across online, in-person, or hybrid delivery models

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • Minimum 2+ years of teaching experience, preferably with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD students
  • Experience in online teaching and trauma-informed practice
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • UK-based with the right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS check and 2+ professional references

Preferred

  • Experience in SENDCo, LSA, Educational Therapist, or Intervention Specialist roles
  • Background in therapeutic or learning support environments
  • Familiarity with special educational needs frameworks and support strategies
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills
