The Opportunity:

As a School Business Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the school’s financial and operational strategy. This is a senior leadership position with a focus on long-term sustainability, compliance, and digital transformation. The role is integral to the school’s success and requires a forward-thinking, solution-focused individual.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic financial planning, budget setting, and financial monitoring to ensure long-term sustainability.
  • Provide high-quality financial guidance to the Executive Headteacher, Governors, and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Oversee administration systems and ensure efficient operational practices.
  • Lead on ICT strategy, MIS development, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure GDPR compliance and oversee HR systems in line with statutory requirements.
  • Manage facilities and estates, including PFI transition and procurement.
  • Contribute to whole-school leadership and strategic decision-making as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in education.
  • Strong business acumen and financial management skills.
  • Excellent communication and influencing abilities.
  • Experience with ICT strategy, MIS development, and digital transformation.
  • Knowledge of GDPR compliance and HR systems.
  • Ability to manage facilities and estates effectively.
  • Commitment to the school’s mission and values.

Preferred

  • Experience with multi-site operations and PFI management.
  • Background in special education or working with students with complex communication needs.
  • Experience in procurement and value-for-money practices.
  • Leadership experience within a school setting.
