The Opportunity:
As a School Business Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the school’s financial and operational strategy. This is a senior leadership position with a focus on long-term sustainability, compliance, and digital transformation. The role is integral to the school’s success and requires a forward-thinking, solution-focused individual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic financial planning, budget setting, and financial monitoring to ensure long-term sustainability.
- Provide high-quality financial guidance to the Executive Headteacher, Governors, and Senior Leadership Team.
- Oversee administration systems and ensure efficient operational practices.
- Lead on ICT strategy, MIS development, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Ensure GDPR compliance and oversee HR systems in line with statutory requirements.
- Manage facilities and estates, including PFI transition and procurement.
- Contribute to whole-school leadership and strategic decision-making as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in education.
- Strong business acumen and financial management skills.
- Excellent communication and influencing abilities.
- Experience with ICT strategy, MIS development, and digital transformation.
- Knowledge of GDPR compliance and HR systems.
- Ability to manage facilities and estates effectively.
- Commitment to the school’s mission and values.
Preferred
- Experience with multi-site operations and PFI management.
- Background in special education or working with students with complex communication needs.
- Experience in procurement and value-for-money practices.
- Leadership experience within a school setting.
