The Opportunity:

As a School Librarian, you will play a key role in fostering a love of reading and supporting the learning environment for students in the Senior School. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student engagement and academic success through library services and resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the library to ensure a welcoming and productive learning environment.
  • Promote a culture of reading and learning through curated collections, events, and student engagement activities.
  • Support students, staff, and visitors with effective communication and assistance in library resources and services.
  • Utilize digital library systems to enhance access to learning materials and streamline library processes.
  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum and support student learning outcomes.
  • Contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school by participating in events and initiatives.
  • Ensure the library adheres to safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming library space that reflects the school’s values and ethos.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A willingness to engage fully with the extra-curricular life of the school.
  • Strong communication skills with students, staff, and visitors.
  • Ability to use digital library systems effectively.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Previous library experience, particularly in an educational setting.
  • Experience working in a Catholic or values-based educational environment.
  • Knowledge of curriculum support and library resource integration.
  • Experience in fostering a love of reading in young people.
