The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and develop the school library to ensure it is a vibrant and inclusive space for all students.
• Promote reading and literacy through targeted programs and activities for students of all abilities.
• Support teachers in delivering literacy initiatives and embedding reading into the curriculum.
• Collaborate with staff to develop and implement strategies that improve student reading outcomes.
• Provide guidance and resources to students and staff to enhance reading skills and confidence.
• Organize and manage library resources, ensuring they are up to date and accessible to all.
• Participate in school events and initiatives that promote a culture of reading and learning.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of literacy programs to ensure continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Relevant qualifications in library science, education, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a library or educational support role, preferably with a focus on literacy.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to promoting reading and supporting student learning.

Preferred

• Experience in working with students across a range of abilities, including those with special educational needs.
• Knowledge of current literacy strategies and best practices in education.
• Experience with digital library systems and resources.
• Familiarity with curriculum planning and support for teaching staff.
