The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated School Maintenance Assistant to join our estates team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of school facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting a high-performing school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform proactive maintenance and repairs to building fabric, including painting and general upkeep
- Log maintenance requests on systems and ensure prompt issue reporting
- Carry out plumbing fixes, including toilets, sinks, and showers
- Repair and maintain furniture across the school
- Conduct regular PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) checks
- Assist with portering duties and ad-hoc cleaning tasks
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness and maintenance across all school sites
- Support travel to multiple school locations as required
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in maintenance or facilities management
- Ability to carry out basic building repairs and maintenance
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Reliable and punctual with a commitment to a full-time schedule
- Experience working in a school or educational setting
Preferred
- Previous experience with PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) systems
- Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems
- Experience with logging and tracking maintenance requests
- Flexibility to travel between multiple school locations
- Basic carpentry or painting skills
