The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated School Maintenance Assistant to join our estates team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of school facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting a high-performing school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform proactive maintenance and repairs to building fabric, including painting and general upkeep
  • Log maintenance requests on systems and ensure prompt issue reporting
  • Carry out plumbing fixes, including toilets, sinks, and showers
  • Repair and maintain furniture across the school
  • Conduct regular PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) checks
  • Assist with portering duties and ad-hoc cleaning tasks
  • Uphold high standards of cleanliness and maintenance across all school sites
  • Support travel to multiple school locations as required

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in maintenance or facilities management
  • Ability to carry out basic building repairs and maintenance
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Reliable and punctual with a commitment to a full-time schedule
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting

Preferred

  • Previous experience with PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) systems
  • Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems
  • Experience with logging and tracking maintenance requests
  • Flexibility to travel between multiple school locations
  • Basic carpentry or painting skills
