Casual School Nurse required to support student wellbeing and health care in a leading UK school.

The Opportunity:

This casual School Nurse role offers the chance to provide essential health and wellbeing support to students and staff across both the Senior and Junior Schools. The role is flexible and ad-hoc, working closely with the pastoral team and other school staff to ensure the health needs of the school community are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical assistance and support to students and staff as required.
  • Promote the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of the school community.
  • Collaborate with the pastoral team and wider staff to ensure a holistic approach to student care.
  • Administer first aid and manage minor injuries and illnesses.
  • Maintain accurate records of medical interventions and student health information.
  • Support the school’s commitment to inclusion and wellbeing through health education and awareness initiatives.
  • Work flexibly to cover shifts as required by the Nursing Team.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student health concerns.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Valid nursing qualification and current registration with the appropriate regulatory body.
  • Experience in a school or healthcare setting, preferably with children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of child health and wellbeing practices.
  • Flexibility to work ad-hoc hours as required.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a school environment.
  • Experience with child safeguarding procedures.
  • Familiarity with health promotion and public health initiatives.
  • Experience with managing student health records.
