The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a dynamic team and make a meaningful impact on student learning. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of young people through engaging and impactful Science education at Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver a well-structured Science curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Monitor and support student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
  • Assess student performance using both formative and summative strategies to ensure knowledge retention.
  • Create engaging learning experiences that help students achieve their full potential in Science.
  • Contribute to raising Science attainment across the school.
  • Support the Science department in maintaining a high-profile and successful department.
  • Stay up to date with current developments in Science education and curriculum requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Degree-level qualification in a Science-based subject or equivalent post-degree conversion course
  • Experience teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Ability to deliver high-quality Science lessons to students of all abilities
  • Strong knowledge of the Science curriculum and current educational developments

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering Science education in an alternative provision setting
  • Experience with teaching English as a Second Language
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • A commitment to continuous improvement in teaching and learning
