The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons that inspire and challenge students across KS3, 4, and 5.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that promote student engagement and achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental standards and share best practices.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions.
  • Support the school’s vision by fostering a positive and inclusive learning culture.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of all classroom resources and technology.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extra-curricular activities and events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Science or related subject.
  • Proven experience in teaching Science at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a desire to improve teaching practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a Science department or taking on leadership responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices and classroom-based research.
  • Experience with teaching English as a Second Language (ESOL) or working with diverse student groups.
  • Knowledge of 21st-century pedagogy and technology integration in the classroom.
