Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons that engage and inspire students of all abilities.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that align with curriculum standards and student needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental practices and share best teaching approaches.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and provide pastoral support to students where appropriate.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Science education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into classroom practice.
  • Support the school’s mission to promote a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and student well-being.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through professional development, staff meetings, and other collaborative initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant Science degree and appropriate teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
  • Proven experience in teaching Science at secondary level.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student-centered learning and continuous professional development.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on additional responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching GCSE and A Level Science.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching technologies and resources.
  • Experience in supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Involvement in extracurricular activities or leadership within a school setting.
