The Opportunity:
A Sociology and Personal Development Teacher is needed to join a dynamic and experienced team. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Sociology and Personal Development lessons that engage and challenge students.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that encourages critical thinking and prepares students for life beyond school.
- Contribute to the development of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in the social sciences.
- Support students through a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including debate, leadership, and citizenship initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain and enhance the school’s strong academic reputation.
- Monitor and assess student progress to ensure all learners achieve their full potential.
- Promote a culture of mutual respect and high standards within the school community.
- Provide guidance and support to students in their personal and academic development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Sociology and Personal Development.
- Proven experience in teaching and delivering curriculum content at Key Stage 4 and 5.
- Strong organisational skills and a commitment to excellence in the classroom.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a high-performing school environment.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum design or development.
- Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
- Experience with extra-curricular leadership or student engagement initiatives.
- Experience in training or mentoring other teachers.
