Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in Sociology and Psychology to students of all abilities.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to raise attainment and engagement.
  • Support students in developing critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Social Sciences curriculum and student outcomes.
  • Participate in staff development and training initiatives.
  • Uphold and promote the school’s behaviour policies and values.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students where appropriate.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Sociology and Psychology.
  • Commitment to raising attainment and achievement for all students.
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with NPQML, NPQSL, or Lead Practitioner courses.
  • Experience in training and developing other teachers.
  • Familiarity with the Ark Schools ethos and values.
  • Experience in developing and delivering a broad and balanced curriculum.
