The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Science Technician to support the science department and help bring science to life for students. This role is essential in maintaining a safe and effective learning environment through laboratory preparation, equipment management, and assisting with practical lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up equipment and materials for science lessons, ensuring experiments run smoothly and safely.
  • Assist teachers during practical lessons, providing technical support and guidance to students.
  • Maintain and organize laboratory equipment, ensuring all items are in good working condition and properly stored.
  • Implement and uphold Health and Safety standards in the laboratory, conducting regular safety checks and risk assessments.
  • Manage inventory of materials and equipment, ordering supplies as needed to ensure the labs are well-stocked.
  • Support the development of scientific inquiry and learning through practical and engaging laboratory experiences.
  • Collaborate with teachers to enhance the quality of science education and student engagement.
  • Contribute to the school's mission of fostering a love for learning and academic excellence.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a laboratory or technical support role within an educational setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety standards in a laboratory environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Background or knowledge of Physics.
  • Experience in supporting science lessons and practical work.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage inventory and equipment effectively.
