The Opportunity:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs. You will deliver intervention programmes, assist in class, and contribute to planning and review meetings. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted intervention programmes to support SEN students
- Assist in classroom settings and during other learning activities
- Contribute to termly reviews and planning meetings within the department
- Support students in developing their learning and social skills
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Stay up to date with best practices in special educational needs support
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A qualification or interest in the area of Special Educational Needs
- Experience working with children with additional needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations
- Commitment to inclusion and student wellbeing
Preferred
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar role
- Experience with behaviour management strategies
- Knowledge of SEN frameworks and support systems
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment
