As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs. You will deliver intervention programmes, assist in class, and contribute to planning and review meetings. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted intervention programmes to support SEN students
  • Assist in classroom settings and during other learning activities
  • Contribute to termly reviews and planning meetings within the department
  • Support students in developing their learning and social skills
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Stay up to date with best practices in special educational needs support
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A qualification or interest in the area of Special Educational Needs
  • Experience working with children with additional needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations
  • Commitment to inclusion and student wellbeing

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar role
  • Experience with behaviour management strategies
  • Knowledge of SEN frameworks and support systems
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment
