The Opportunity:

As an SEN Tutor, you will deliver impactful, trauma-informed tuition to young people with SEND and SEMH needs, helping them reach their full potential. This role offers flexibility, purpose, and the chance to make a real difference in your community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver in-person, online, and hybrid tuition in Maths, English, or Science to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or PMLD needs.
  • Plan and deliver trauma-informed, flexible teaching to support learners from KS1 to KS5.
  • Provide regular feedback and progress reports to ensure continuous development.
  • Work closely with local authorities and schools to support students with additional educational needs.
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that prioritises the well-being of each learner.
  • Collaborate with the SEND Support Team to ensure a consistent and effective approach to teaching.
  • Engage in professional development and mentorship opportunities to enhance your skills.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • 2+ years of teaching experience, preferably with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or PMLD learners
  • Experience teaching Maths, English, or Science
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
  • Right to work in the UK

Preferred

  • Experience in trauma-informed teaching or mental health support
  • Experience with SENDCo, LSA, or Educational Therapist roles
  • Familiarity with intervention strategies for learners with additional needs
  • Ability to work flexibly across in-person, online, and hybrid formats
