The Opportunity:
As an SEN Tutor, you will provide individualised support to young people with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them reach their full potential. This role offers the chance to make a real impact while working in a flexible and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-person, online, and hybrid tuition in Maths, English, or Science to young people with SEMH and SEND needs
- Plan and deliver trauma-informed, flexible tutoring and mentoring sessions
- Provide regular feedback and report on student progress
- Support learners from KS1 to KS5, as appropriate for your expertise
- Work closely with local authorities and schools to meet the needs of referred students
- Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students
- Engage in continuous professional development and mentorship opportunities
- Collaborate with the SEND Support Team to provide holistic care and guidance
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- 2+ years of teaching experience, preferably with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
- Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references
- Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
- Experience in teaching Maths, English, or Science
Preferred
- Experience working in a trauma-informed and holistic manner
- Familiarity with intervention strategies and support for vulnerable learners
- Experience in SENDCo, LSA, or Educational Therapist roles
- Flexibility to work in-person, online, or hybrid settings
