The Opportunity:

As an SEN Tutor, you will provide individualised support to young people with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them reach their full potential. This role offers the chance to make a real impact while working in a flexible and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver in-person, online, and hybrid tuition in Maths, English, or Science to young people with SEMH and SEND needs
  • Plan and deliver trauma-informed, flexible tutoring and mentoring sessions
  • Provide regular feedback and report on student progress
  • Support learners from KS1 to KS5, as appropriate for your expertise
  • Work closely with local authorities and schools to meet the needs of referred students
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students
  • Engage in continuous professional development and mentorship opportunities
  • Collaborate with the SEND Support Team to provide holistic care and guidance

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • 2+ years of teaching experience, preferably with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
  • Experience in teaching Maths, English, or Science

Preferred

  • Experience working in a trauma-informed and holistic manner
  • Familiarity with intervention strategies and support for vulnerable learners
  • Experience in SENDCo, LSA, or Educational Therapist roles
  • Flexibility to work in-person, online, or hybrid settings
