The Opportunity:

As an SEN Tutor, you will provide targeted academic and emotional support to young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role offers the chance to make a real impact in a flexible and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver in-person, online, and hybrid Maths, English, or Science tuition to students with SEND and SEMH needs
  • Plan and deliver trauma-informed, flexible lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Provide regular feedback and progress reports to ensure student development
  • Support students across Key Stages 1 to 5, as appropriate for your expertise
  • Collaborate with local authorities and schools to meet the specific needs of referred learners
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes emotional and academic growth
  • Engage in continuous professional development and mentorship opportunities
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and session outcomes

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • 2+ years of teaching experience, preferably with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD learners
  • Experience teaching Maths, English, or Science
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Right to work in the UK

Preferred

  • Experience with trauma-informed teaching methods
  • Background in SENDCo, Intervention Specialist, or Educational Therapist roles
  • Familiarity with working with young people with complex needs
  • Experience in remote or hybrid teaching environments
