The Opportunity:

As an SEN Tutor, you will provide individualised support to young people with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them achieve academic and personal growth. This is a chance to make a meaningful impact while working in a flexible and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver in-person, online, and hybrid Maths, English, or Science tuition to students with SEND and SEMH needs
  • Plan and deliver trauma-informed lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Provide regular feedback to students and report on their academic progress
  • Collaborate with local authorities and schools to support learners from KS1 to KS5
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes emotional well-being
  • Engage in continuous professional development and mentorship opportunities
  • Support students with a range of needs, including MLD, SLD, and PMLD
  • Stay up to date with safeguarding practices and ensure a secure learning environment

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • 2+ years of teaching experience, preferably with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or PMLD
  • Experience teaching Maths, English, or Science
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • 2+ professional references

Preferred

  • Experience working with vulnerable young people in a trauma-informed way
  • Familiarity with intervention strategies and educational support frameworks
  • Experience in SENDCo or inclusion roles
  • Background in therapeutic or learning support roles
