The Opportunity:

As an SEN Tutor, you will provide targeted academic and emotional support to young people with SEND and SEMH needs. This role offers flexibility, competitive pay, and the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver in-person, online, and hybrid Maths, English, or Science tuition to students with SEND and SEMH needs.
  • Plan and deliver trauma-informed, flexible tutoring and mentoring sessions tailored to individual needs.
  • Provide regular feedback on student progress and maintain detailed lesson reports.
  • Support learners from KS1 to KS5, as appropriate for your expertise.
  • Work closely with local authorities and schools to meet the needs of referred students.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment with a strong focus on safeguarding.
  • Collaborate with the SEND Support Team to maintain a holistic approach to student support.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and mentorship opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • 2+ years of teaching experience, preferably with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD learners.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS).
  • Experience in creating trauma-informed and flexible teaching strategies.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Valid UK work permit and the ability to work in the UK, even for remote roles.
  • Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance.

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL/TEFL).
  • Background in SENDCo, Intervention Specialist, or Educational Therapist roles.
  • Familiarity with working with students with autism, ADHD, or complex learning needs.
  • Experience in online or hybrid teaching environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
