Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective strategies to support students with special educational needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with special educational needs and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on inclusive practices and SEN policy.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to student needs and interventions.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to align SEN policy with the school’s strategic goals.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion and raise awareness of SEN issues across the school community.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and best practices in special educational needs support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in special educational needs.
  • Proven track record in supporting students with a range of additional needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEN policy and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Experience in a similar role within a secondary school setting.
  • Knowledge of assessment and intervention strategies for students with complex needs.
  • Experience in leading or supporting SEN initiatives across the school.
