Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective strategies to support students with special educational needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with special educational needs and adjust interventions as needed.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on inclusive practices and SEN policy.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to student needs and interventions.
- Work closely with the senior leadership team to align SEN policy with the school’s strategic goals.
- Promote a culture of inclusion and raise awareness of SEN issues across the school community.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and best practices in special educational needs support.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in special educational needs.
- Proven track record in supporting students with a range of additional needs.
- Strong understanding of SEN policy and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Preferred
- Experience in a similar role within a secondary school setting.
- Knowledge of assessment and intervention strategies for students with complex needs.
- Experience in leading or supporting SEN initiatives across the school.
