The Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity for a SEND Teacher to join a newly established Additional Resources Provision (ARP) and shape the learning experience of students with exceptional needs. As a SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering an inclusive curriculum and supporting students through tailored interventions and approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and plan a curriculum tailored to the needs of students with additional learning requirements.
- Implement and monitor specific interventions and approaches outlined in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher for “The Maple” and other members of the Access & Inclusion Department.
- Support vulnerable students across the school, as required, and contribute to a Pathway approach to the main curriculum.
- Forge strong professional relationships with parents, external agencies, and the wider school community.
- Ensure a calm, resilient, and flexible approach to teaching and working with students with complex needs.
- Participate in staff development and leadership opportunities within the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant teaching qualification and experience in a SEND setting or a desire to develop SEND expertise.
- Experience in delivering curriculum and interventions for students with additional needs.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to changing needs.
Preferred
- Experience in primary KS2 or secondary settings.
- Familiarity with supporting students with social, communication, and associated learning needs, including those with Autism.
- Experience with the Pathway approach to education and working within a multi-provision SEND environment.
