Summary:

The Opportunity:

As SENDCo and Head of Inclusion, you will play a key role in shaping and leading inclusive practice across the school. This is a strategic and impactful position that will influence the lives of students with special educational needs and those facing barriers to learning, ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic development of SEND and inclusion across the school
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the school’s SEND provision
  • Work closely with staff, families, and external agencies to secure effective support for pupils
  • Promote high-quality inclusive classroom practice across the school
  • Contribute to safeguarding systems and wider pastoral support
  • Support and uphold the Catholic ethos of the school
  • Play a full role in the work of the Extended Leadership Team and whole-school improvement

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Willingness to hold or work towards the National Award for SEN Coordination
  • Strong track record of improving outcomes for pupils with SEND and other vulnerable groups
  • Experience in leading and developing inclusive practice
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership role within education
  • Experience with safeguarding and pastoral care
  • Experience with inclusive classroom practice
  • Experience in strategic planning and implementation
