The Opportunity:

As the SENDCo at a school, you will lead the development of inclusive education strategies and support the learning needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities. This role is ideal for a passionate and experienced professional who is dedicated to creating an environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the day-to-day operations of the SEND department.
  • Develop and implement targeted interventions and curriculum pathways to support a diverse range of learners.
  • Collaborate with class teachers, specialists, and support staff to embed inclusive practices across the school.
  • Deliver professional learning and training to staff on inclusive education strategies.
  • Engage in action research to drive sustainable, skills-based development in SEND provision.
  • Maintain strong communication with parents and carers to ensure consistent support for students.
  • Ensure that all practices align with the school’s vision, mission, and values.
  • Promote a culture of belonging and achievement for students with special educational needs and disabilities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Native-level English language skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Needs Education / Inclusion or similar, with a PGCE in Education with QTS or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with SEN or inclusion-focused roles in the UK or a reputable British school.
  • A track record of outstanding teaching and learning, and an ability to create a caring and nurturing classroom environment.

Preferred

  • Additional qualifications, including the National Award for SEN Coordination.
