The Opportunity:
As a Senior Admin Officer, you will be central to the smooth operation of the school, delivering efficient administrative support and leading the administrative team. This role is vital to ensuring the school runs effectively, with a strong focus on staff development, HR processes, and safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the school office and administrative systems
- Coordinate and support the organisation of school trips, parents’ evenings, meetings, and events
- Ensure a professional and welcoming reception for all visitors and parents, adhering to health and safety procedures
- Lead and develop the administrative team, including line management of Receptionists
- Oversee HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding, and staff records in line with school policy
- Handle complex and challenging visitor and caller enquiries with professionalism
- Contribute to the development and improvement of support services and organisational procedures
- Support the safeguarding team in promoting the welfare and wellbeing of all pupils
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior administrative or leadership role within an educational setting
- Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience in HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, and record management
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and develop a team effectively
Preferred
- Experience in safeguarding or child protection within an educational environment
- Knowledge of London Living Wage and commitment to fair pay practices
- Experience with school events planning and management
- Familiarity with educational policies and procedures
