The Opportunity:

As a Senior Librarian, you will play a key role in managing and organizing library resources to support teaching and learning across the school. You will help foster a love of reading and independent learning, while maintaining a welcoming and scholarly atmosphere in the school libraries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and organize library resources to support teaching and learning throughout the school.
• Facilitate independent learning and encourage reading for pleasure among students.
• Maintain a welcoming, attractive, and scholarly environment in the school libraries.
• Assist students with accessing and effectively using the school’s varied learning resources.
• Collaborate with teachers to support curriculum-based learning and research.
• Oversee library events, including author talks, conferences, and other activities.
• Ensure the library remains a vibrant and engaging space for students and staff.
• Support the development of library collections and digital resources.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Chartered librarian with a professional qualification in librarianship.
• Previous experience working in a library or resource centre.
• Strong knowledge and love of literature.
• Ability to manage and organize resources effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

• Experience with library management systems and digital resources.
• Experience in a school or educational setting.
• Knowledge of curriculum support and learning resource development.
• Experience in organizing library events or activities.
