The Opportunity:

As a Senior Library Teacher, you will be responsible for managing the school’s library and supporting students in accessing resources. This role is essential in fostering a culture of learning and ensuring the library remains a valuable asset to the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of the school library and supervise library staff.
  • Promote a positive and productive working environment aligned with the school’s ethos.
  • Ensure students and staff are aware of library facilities and how to access them.
  • Collaborate with curriculum departments to support resource access and usage.
  • Maintain accurate records and organize library materials effectively.
  • Use MS packages to manage library systems and data.
  • Support the school’s mission by encouraging student engagement and learning.
  • Work with pastoral and learning support teams to enhance the inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Educated to A-Level or equivalent.
  • Experience working with students and young people in an educational setting.
  • Ability to maintain high standards in all aspects of work.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft software packages.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and maintain records effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in library management or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of educational best practices and library systems.
  • Experience in supporting student development and learning outcomes.
