The Opportunity:

As a Senior Lunchtime Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for students during lunchtimes. This is a key position in supporting the school’s mission to promote the welfare and success of all young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the lunchtime supervisor team to ensure consistent and effective supervision.
  • Supervise and manage pupils across the school site during lunchtimes, promoting positive behavior and a safe environment.
  • Support the school’s inclusive ethos by fostering positive relationships with students.
  • Carry out ancillary duties as required to support the smooth running of the school.
  • Ensure compliance with the school’s policies and procedures related to student welfare and safety.
  • Collaborate with staff and students to maintain a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.
  • Provide regular feedback and support to the lunchtime team to enhance performance and morale.
  • Contribute to the development of initiatives that promote student well-being and positive behavior.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Experience working in a school environment with a focus on inclusion and student well-being.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing a team of lunchtime supervisors or similar roles.
  • Knowledge of child development and behavior management strategies.
  • Experience with inclusive education and supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Familiarity with school policies and procedures related to student welfare and safety.
