Seeking a Sixth Form Academic Mentor to support student learning and development.

The Opportunity:

As a Sixth Form Academic Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting students through personalized academic guidance. You will build strong relationships with both students and teachers, delivering targeted sessions to help remove barriers to learning and improve academic progress. This is a permanent role with opportunities for professional development in a dynamic and supportive setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver targeted academic support sessions to small groups or 1-1 students.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students to support their academic and personal development.
  • Collaborate with teachers to identify and address barriers to learning.
  • Plan and deliver sessions that are engaging and tailored to individual student needs.
  • Support students during after-school private study time.
  • Attend exam results day and evening events on two additional days per term.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and session outcomes.
  • Contribute to the school’s mission of promoting academic excellence and personal growth.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Experience in academic mentoring or similar support roles.
  • Good standard of computer literacy and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with Sixth Form education and student support strategies.
  • Experience with curriculum development or learning support.
  • Knowledge of Christian values and ethos in an educational context.
