The Opportunity:
As a Sixth Form Centre Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting post-16 students and managing the Independent Study Centre. This is a dual role that combines administrative support with the coordination of learning environments to ensure the smooth operation of the department and the success of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the Independent Study Centre to ensure a purposeful and effective learning environment.
- Provide administrative support to the Sixth Form leadership team, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
- Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere for students, promoting engagement and academic success.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing timely feedback and support where needed.
- Liaise with teachers, students, and parents to ensure consistent communication and collaboration.
- Organize and oversee events, activities, and initiatives that enhance the Sixth Form experience.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and procedures, maintaining high standards of conduct and performance.
- Support the implementation of academic and pastoral strategies to improve student outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a similar role within a school or educational setting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to student welfare and academic achievement.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in managing administrative tasks and coordinating educational programs.
Preferred
- Experience in a Sixth Form or post-16 environment.
- Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Knowledge of educational frameworks and curriculum requirements.
- Experience with data management and student tracking systems.
- Leadership experience or the ability to take on a leadership role.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary scale (NJC 12 - NJC 23).
