The Opportunity:

As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students' social, emotional, and academic needs. Working with families, staff, and external agencies, you will provide essential counselling, crisis intervention, and safeguarding leadership. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counselling to students to support their emotional and social well-being
  • Identify and address the needs of at-risk students through early intervention strategies
  • Collaborate with pastoral leaders, inclusion teams, and external agencies to ensure a holistic support system
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders
  • Respond promptly to crises and ensure safeguarding protocols are followed effectively
  • Engage with families to provide guidance on internal and external support resources
  • Participate actively in school events, pastoral initiatives, and student activities
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote a safe and inclusive learning environment

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • QFE 7 (Bachelor’s Degree) in Social Work or Social Service with a minimum of 2 years of experience in youth-related social work
  • Or QFE 7 (Bachelor’s Degree) in Psychology, Counseling, Youth Development, Sociology, or a related subject with 4 years of experience in youth-related social work
  • Valid Social care license from DCD (Department of Community Development)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in safeguarding and child protection
  • Experience working in an educational setting providing student support and counselling services

Preferred

  • Experience working with diverse student populations and families from various cultural backgrounds
  • Strong communication and partnership-building skills with families and external agencies
  • Experience in developing and implementing early intervention strategies
  • Involvement in wider school life, including student activities and pastoral initiatives
