The Opportunity:
We are seeking an inspiring Spanish Teacher to join our Modern Languages department. This full-time, fixed-term role offers the opportunity to shape young minds and contribute to a vibrant academic and co-curricular community. The ideal candidate will be passionate about language learning and committed to delivering high-quality education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Spanish across the age and ability range, adapting lessons to meet diverse student needs.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and creative lessons that inspire and challenge students.
- Assess, mark, and provide detailed feedback to pupils in line with school processes.
- Support the development of students through enrichment activities and co-curricular events.
- Contribute to the pastoral care of students, including tutoring and supporting their wellbeing.
- Collaborate with the Head of Department to enhance professional practice and departmental initiatives.
- Participate in staff duties, such as invigilation and supervision of meal times.
- Engage in co-curricular activities and school events, including trips and workshops.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree (2:1 or above) or further degree in a directly-related subject.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging lessons across all ability levels.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in teaching.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong ICT skills and willingness to use technology in teaching and learning.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching Spanish at the secondary level.
- Experience with PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education) or similar curricula.
- Experience in co-curricular or pastoral roles within a school setting.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and assessment strategies.
- Experience working in a boarding school or similar educational environment.
