The Opportunity:

We are seeking an inspiring Spanish Teacher to join our Modern Languages department. This full-time, fixed-term role offers the opportunity to shape young minds and contribute to a vibrant academic and co-curricular community. The ideal candidate will be passionate about language learning and committed to delivering high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Spanish across the age and ability range, adapting lessons to meet diverse student needs.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and creative lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Assess, mark, and provide detailed feedback to pupils in line with school processes.
  • Support the development of students through enrichment activities and co-curricular events.
  • Contribute to the pastoral care of students, including tutoring and supporting their wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Department to enhance professional practice and departmental initiatives.
  • Participate in staff duties, such as invigilation and supervision of meal times.
  • Engage in co-curricular activities and school events, including trips and workshops.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree (2:1 or above) or further degree in a directly-related subject.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging lessons across all ability levels.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in teaching.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong ICT skills and willingness to use technology in teaching and learning.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Spanish at the secondary level.
  • Experience with PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education) or similar curricula.
  • Experience in co-curricular or pastoral roles within a school setting.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and assessment strategies.
  • Experience working in a boarding school or similar educational environment.
