The Opportunity:
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will make a meaningful impact on students’ communication and learning outcomes. You will collaborate with teachers, parents, and professionals to deliver targeted support that enhances student progress and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and identify speech, language, and communication needs of students aged 5–16.
- Develop and implement individualised intervention plans aligned with curriculum goals.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to support student progress.
- Maintain accurate records and report on student development and outcomes.
- Deliver targeted therapy sessions that improve communication skills and confidence.
- Stay up to date with current legislation and best practices in special educational needs.
- Support the school’s mission by promoting equality and inclusion in all aspects of therapy delivery.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the overall student support strategy.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a qualified Speech and Language Therapist.
- Relevant professional qualification, such as HCPC registration.
- Experience working with children aged 5–16 in an educational setting.
- Strong assessment and intervention planning skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and report on student progress.
Preferred
- Knowledge of current legislation related to special educational needs.
- Experience with speech and language therapy in a school or multidisciplinary team setting.
- Experience with Forest School or outdoor learning environments.
- Familiarity with co-operative values and inclusive education practices.
