The Opportunity:

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will make a meaningful impact on students’ communication and learning outcomes. You will collaborate with teachers, parents, and professionals to deliver targeted support that enhances student progress and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and identify speech, language, and communication needs of students aged 5–16.
  • Develop and implement individualised intervention plans aligned with curriculum goals.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to support student progress.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on student development and outcomes.
  • Deliver targeted therapy sessions that improve communication skills and confidence.
  • Stay up to date with current legislation and best practices in special educational needs.
  • Support the school’s mission by promoting equality and inclusion in all aspects of therapy delivery.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the overall student support strategy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum of three years’ experience as a qualified Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Relevant professional qualification, such as HCPC registration.
  • Experience working with children aged 5–16 in an educational setting.
  • Strong assessment and intervention planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and report on student progress.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of current legislation related to special educational needs.
  • Experience with speech and language therapy in a school or multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Experience with Forest School or outdoor learning environments.
  • Familiarity with co-operative values and inclusive education practices.
