The Opportunity:

As a Sports Assistant Apprentice, you will play a key role in supporting physical education and sporting activities across the school. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop coaching skills, and earn a recognised qualification while working in a welcoming and inspiring environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of high-quality PE lessons and sports activities.
  • Assist with lunchtime and after-school sports clubs.
  • Encourage pupils to participate in a range of sporting activities.
  • Help organise sports events, competitions, and school tournaments.
  • Promote healthy lifestyles and positive attitudes towards physical activity.
  • Support pupils of all abilities to achieve their full potential.
  • Work alongside experienced PE staff and sports coaches.
  • Contribute to the development of a vibrant and inclusive sporting culture.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A genuine passion for sport and working with children.
  • Enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to learn.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to act as a positive role model for young people.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience with youth development or sports coaching.
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of sports coaching qualifications or training programs.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.
