The Opportunity:
As a Sports Teacher Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of sports and physical education programs for students. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the development of young people through sport, while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of sports and physical education lessons across a range of core team games, including Football, Rugby, Hockey, and Cricket.
- Assist in the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for students.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students in a variety of sporting and exercise activities.
- Collaborate with the Deputy Director of Sport and other staff to ensure the highest standards of teaching and coaching.
- Contribute to the planning and organization of sports events and competitions.
- Promote a positive and inclusive sporting culture within the school.
- Help maintain and develop sports facilities and equipment.
- Support the safeguarding and well-being of students through all sports-related activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A graduate with a strong interest in teaching and coaching.
- High level of experience in playing and ideally coaching core team games such as Football, Rugby, Hockey, and Cricket.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the welfare and development of young people.
- Willingness to assist in a variety of sports and exercise activities.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or coaching within a school or sports environment.
- Knowledge of strength and conditioning principles.
- Previous experience working with young people in a sporting or educational setting.
- DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one.
