The Opportunity:

As a Sports Teacher Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of sports and physical education programs for students. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the development of young people through sport, while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of sports and physical education lessons across a range of core team games, including Football, Rugby, Hockey, and Cricket.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for students.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students in a variety of sporting and exercise activities.
  • Collaborate with the Deputy Director of Sport and other staff to ensure the highest standards of teaching and coaching.
  • Contribute to the planning and organization of sports events and competitions.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive sporting culture within the school.
  • Help maintain and develop sports facilities and equipment.
  • Support the safeguarding and well-being of students through all sports-related activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A graduate with a strong interest in teaching and coaching.
  • High level of experience in playing and ideally coaching core team games such as Football, Rugby, Hockey, and Cricket.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the welfare and development of young people.
  • Willingness to assist in a variety of sports and exercise activities.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or coaching within a school or sports environment.
  • Knowledge of strength and conditioning principles.
  • Previous experience working with young people in a sporting or educational setting.
  • DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one.
