The Opportunity:
As a Sports Teacher, you will play a vital role in inspiring and guiding students in their sporting journey. You will contribute to the PE department and be an active member of the Boarding community, supporting a school that values sport as a key part of student life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality PE lessons and support the curriculum with a focus on both competitive and recreational sports.
- Manage and lead a range of sports teams, including established pathways such as Netball and Tennis.
- Encourage all students to participate in sport, regardless of ability, and help them find their level of involvement.
- Support the Boarding community by contributing to the residential experience and student welfare.
- Organize and run after-school sports clubs and co-curricular activities.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, discipline, and personal growth through sport.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the school to ensure a consistent and positive student experience.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during sporting activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant sports-related degree or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in teaching or coaching in a school or sports environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the welfare and development of young people.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and take on responsibility.
Preferred
- Experience working in a boarding or residential setting.
- Knowledge of a range of sports and the ability to coach multiple disciplines.
- Experience with sports pathways and talent development.
- Passion for sport and the ability to inspire students.
