The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and experienced Sports Teacher to join its dedicated physical education team. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of sporting activities and to support the development of students across all age groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality physical education lessons to students across the 3–18 age range.
  • Coach a variety of sports, including rugby, netball, cricket, hockey, football, swimming, and more.
  • Support the co-curricular program by leading extracurricular activities and fixtures.
  • Work collaboratively with other physical education staff to enhance the school's sporting provision.
  • Provide specialist coaching in a sport of particular expertise.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of the school’s physical education curriculum.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities, including CPD programs and training.
  • Contribute to the overall wellbeing and development of students through sport and physical activity.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in sports, physical education, or a related field.
  • Experience in teaching or coaching physical education at a school level.
  • Ability to coach a range of sports and work effectively with students of all ages.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

Preferred

  • Experience in coaching rugby, netball, cricket, hockey, football, or swimming.
  • Experience in delivering physical education in both primary and secondary settings.
  • Familiarity with the National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaching.
  • Knowledge of the school’s diamond model of teaching and co-curricular programs.
  • Passion for developing students through sport and extracurricular activities.
