The Opportunity:

As a Teacher of Chemistry, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality science education to students across KS3, GCSE, and A-level. You will be part of a dedicated department focused on reducing unnecessary workload and enhancing teaching quality. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Chemistry to students across KS3, GCSE, and A-level.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Chemistry and Director of Science to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning.
  • Support students in extracurricular activities, including the Chemistry Olympiad, Cambridge Chemistry Challenge, and RSC Schools’ Analyst competition.
  • Participate in student-led research projects and laboratory workshops, including those at the Pfizer Community Lab.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative and cutting-edge curricula and teaching resources.
  • Mentor and guide students in their Extended Project Qualification and other scientific research initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment in dedicated laboratory spaces.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of Chemistry and incorporate them into teaching practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Chemistry at KS3, GCSE, and A-level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver the curriculum effectively.
  • Experience in creating and delivering engaging and innovative lessons.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to extracurricular Chemistry activities.
  • Familiarity with student-led research projects and scientific competitions.
  • Experience with laboratory-based teaching and the use of specialist equipment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
