The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Teacher of Computer Science to join a dynamic department and inspire students with a hands-on, innovative curriculum. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about digital technology and committed to delivering high-quality Computer Science education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and innovative Computer Science lessons to students at GCSE and A-level.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that fosters problem solving, creativity, and technical skills.
- Utilise physical computing technologies such as Raspberry Pi, LEGO, and Micro:bit to enhance student learning.
- Support students in developing cross-curricular STEAM skills through practical, hands-on activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve student outcomes and share best practices.
- Stay up to date with developments in Computer Science and incorporate new ideas into teaching.
- Encourage a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes resilience and curiosity.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in delivering Computer Science at least to GCSE level.
- Strong subject knowledge in programming and Computer Science.
- Experience working with students in a school setting.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience of teaching Computer Science to A-level.
- Familiarity with physical computing technologies such as Raspberry Pi, LEGO, and Micro:bit.
- Experience in developing cross-curricular STEAM activities.
- Strong team-player with a collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
- Passion for digital technology and its application in education.
