Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative Computer Science lessons to students at GCSE and A-level.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that fosters problem solving, creativity, and technical skills.
  • Utilise physical computing technologies such as Raspberry Pi, LEGO, and Micro:bit to enhance student learning.
  • Support students in developing cross-curricular STEAM skills through practical, hands-on activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve student outcomes and share best practices.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Computer Science and incorporate new ideas into teaching.
  • Encourage a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes resilience and curiosity.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in delivering Computer Science at least to GCSE level.
  • Strong subject knowledge in programming and Computer Science.
  • Experience working with students in a school setting.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching Computer Science to A-level.
  • Familiarity with physical computing technologies such as Raspberry Pi, LEGO, and Micro:bit.
  • Experience in developing cross-curricular STEAM activities.
  • Strong team-player with a collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
  • Passion for digital technology and its application in education.
