Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver inspiring, well-planned lessons that stretch and nurture every learner
  • Create a stimulating and supportive classroom environment
  • Track progress carefully and implement effective interventions
  • Contribute to the co-curricular life of the school through clubs, events, and enrichment opportunities
  • Support pupils pastorally as a Form Tutor or Deputy Form Tutor
  • Engage fully in professional development and departmental planning
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver a high-quality curriculum across key stages

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good Honours degree (QTS preferred but not essential)
  • Strong subject expertise and a love of literature and language
  • Ability to deliver engaging lessons across KS3, GCSE, and A Level
  • Excellent communication skills with clarity, warmth, and sensitivity
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Commitment to safeguarding and professional integrity

Preferred

  • Experience teaching A Level English Language
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
  • ECTs are warmly encouraged to apply
