As a Teacher of English, you will play a key role in inspiring students and contributing to the development of the department. You will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to support A Level English Literature and Media in the future. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students of all abilities.
- Engage and inspire students both inside and outside the classroom.
- Contribute to the development of the English department and its curriculum.
- Support the school’s extra-curricular programme and student enrichment opportunities.
- Participate in a bespoke CPD programme tailored to individual development needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records and assessments in line with school policies.
- Support the school’s mission and values, including its Catholic ethos and commitment to student formation.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher of English with relevant experience.
- Ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Commitment to the school’s mission and values, including its Catholic ethos.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in contributing to departmental development and extra-curricular activities.
Preferred
- Experience teaching A Level English Literature or Media.
- Experience with pastoral care and student support.
- Experience in developing and delivering CPD sessions.
- Familiarity with the use of digital tools in teaching and learning.
- Experience in a school undergoing improvement or transformation.
