The Opportunity:

As a Teacher of English, you will play a key role in inspiring students and contributing to the development of the department. You will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to support A Level English Literature and Media in the future. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students of all abilities.
  • Engage and inspire students both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Contribute to the development of the English department and its curriculum.
  • Support the school’s extra-curricular programme and student enrichment opportunities.
  • Participate in a bespoke CPD programme tailored to individual development needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records and assessments in line with school policies.
  • Support the school’s mission and values, including its Catholic ethos and commitment to student formation.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher of English with relevant experience.
  • Ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to the school’s mission and values, including its Catholic ethos.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in contributing to departmental development and extra-curricular activities.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching A Level English Literature or Media.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
  • Experience in developing and delivering CPD sessions.
  • Familiarity with the use of digital tools in teaching and learning.
  • Experience in a school undergoing improvement or transformation.
