Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality music lessons using a range of teaching strategies and resources.
  • Develop and implement schemes of learning that align with curriculum requirements.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the music department’s impact across the school.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continuous improvement and achievement.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Participate in departmental and school-wide events and initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with curriculum developments and share best practices with the team.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher or eligible to apply for QTS.
  • Experience in teaching music at the appropriate level.
  • Strong knowledge of music curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Ability to create engaging and inclusive lessons that promote student achievement.
  • Commitment to the school’s vision and values.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering music performance opportunities or extracurricular music activities.
  • Familiarity with music technology and digital resources.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Previous experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
