The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and adaptable Teaching Assistant and Playworker to support students across all key stages. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with teachers and the SENCo to help students thrive academically and socially. The ideal candidate will be committed to making a positive impact on young people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with their learning and behaviour, ensuring a safe and positive classroom environment.
  • Work alongside teachers and the SENCo to assist with individual and group learning needs.
  • Establish strong, positive relationships with students and act as a role model.
  • Adapt teaching and play practices to suit the needs of all learners, including those with communication challenges.
  • Promote and support the school’s values and curriculum through daily interactions.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of play-based learning activities.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of inclusive educational practices.
  • Provide regular feedback to teachers on student progress and behaviour.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in a teaching or childcare setting.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to different learning environments.
  • Experience supporting students with a range of needs, including speech, language, and communication difficulties.

Preferred

  • Experience in a primary school or early years setting.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices and strategies.
  • Experience with play-based learning and positive behaviour support.
  • Qualifications in education or childcare, such as a Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
