The Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Teaching Assistant Grade 4 to provide essential support to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about education and committed to helping students achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will play a key role in assisting teachers and promoting a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of learning activities for individuals and groups of pupils.
- Monitor and track pupil progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher.
- Build positive and constructive relationships with pupils, parents, and carers.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to the needs of pupils with SEND.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment.
- Assist with administrative tasks as required, including record-keeping and reporting.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
- A positive, patient, and compassionate approach to working with children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to the school’s ethos and values.
- Basic understanding of SEND and inclusive education practices.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a teaching or educational support role.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
- Experience in a secondary school setting.
- Knowledge of curriculum planning and assessment strategies.
