The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with autism. This role is ideal for someone who is committed to fostering self-awareness, confidence, and academic progress in young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with autism in a structured and nurturing environment.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of learning activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Promote the school's core values and ethos in all interactions.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to create inclusive and engaging learning experiences.
  • Manage and develop working relationships within the team and across departments.
  • Identify and implement creative opportunities to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification with a grade C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of two years’ experience supporting children with autism in a special school setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching English as a second language.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience in developing and delivering individualized learning plans.
