The Opportunity:

As a Work Experience Adviser, you will support students in gaining valuable work experience and developing essential employability skills. You will play a key role in helping students make informed decisions about their future careers, whether in employment, further education, or training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage meaningful work placements that align with students’ aspirations and areas of study.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers and partners to secure quality work experience opportunities.
  • Engage with students to prepare them for the workplace and support them throughout their placements.
  • Empower students to make informed decisions about their future career pathways.
  • Deliver high-quality work-related learning activities that enhance employability skills.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of work experience programmes on student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Work-related Learning and Employability Manager to ensure programme success.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in exploring career options and progression routes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in coordinating work placements or similar roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in supporting students with career development and employability.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with employers and educational partners.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and supporting diverse learners.

Preferred

  • Experience in further education or a related field.
  • Knowledge of work-related learning and employability frameworks.
  • Experience with career guidance or student support services.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and best practices in education.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary on the Support Staff Pay Scale at point 11.
