The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with a range of needs, including those with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and SLCN. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in students' lives while working within a supportive and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students 1:1 and in small groups, both in mainstream classes and in the inclusion area.
- Work closely with teachers to differentiate resources and set and monitor individual targets.
- Assist with intervention sessions to support students with specific learning needs.
- Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Promote the school's values and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and support skills.
- Collaborate with other teaching assistants and support staff to ensure consistent and effective support for students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in literacy and numeracy.
- Demonstrated commitment to personal learning and development.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with young people, although not essential.
Preferred
- Previous experience working with students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or SLCN.
- Experience in teacher training or a commitment to pursuing it in the future.
- Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate curriculum or similar educational frameworks.
- Experience with differentiated learning and intervention strategies.
