The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning and development, working closely with teachers to ensure a high-quality educational experience. This role involves contributing to the school’s extra-curricular programme and leading an after-school activity on a weekly basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering the curriculum and supporting pupils’ learning needs
  • Promote the personal development and welfare of all pupils under your care
  • Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programme and lead an after-school activity at least once a week
  • Support the safeguarding and welfare of pupils at designated times
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to create a positive and engaging learning environment
  • Assist with administrative and organisational tasks related to pupil activities and events
  • Participate in staff development and training opportunities
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with teachers and parents

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when required
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on a variety of responsibilities

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
  • Experience with curriculum support and classroom assistance
  • Knowledge of outdoor learning and Forest School practices
  • Experience in leading or assisting with extra-curricular activities
  • First aid or safeguarding training
