The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning and development, working closely with teachers to ensure a high-quality educational experience. This role involves contributing to the school’s extra-curricular programme and leading an after-school activity on a weekly basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in delivering the curriculum and supporting pupils’ learning needs
- Promote the personal development and welfare of all pupils under your care
- Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programme and lead an after-school activity at least once a week
- Support the safeguarding and welfare of pupils at designated times
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to create a positive and engaging learning environment
- Assist with administrative and organisational tasks related to pupil activities and events
- Participate in staff development and training opportunities
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with teachers and parents
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with children in an educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when required
- Flexibility and willingness to take on a variety of responsibilities
Preferred
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
- Experience with curriculum support and classroom assistance
- Knowledge of outdoor learning and Forest School practices
- Experience in leading or assisting with extra-curricular activities
- First aid or safeguarding training
