Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching and learning by assisting with lesson planning, classroom activities, and individual student needs.
  • Work closely with teachers to ensure a consistent and effective approach to student support.
  • Promote positive behavior and a safe, inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including record-keeping and communication with parents.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students to enhance their learning outcomes.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to continuously improve teaching practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to implement the school’s vision and values in daily practice.
  • Encourage student engagement and motivation through creative and interactive learning experiences.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant qualification in education or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working within a primary school setting, supporting teaching and learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when needed.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust.
  • Knowledge of the local community and its context.
  • Experience with the Maltby Learning Trust's vision and values.
  • Experience with the school’s core learning characteristics and curriculum approach.
  • Familiarity with enrichment activities and extracurricular opportunities.
